M4A and MP3: what changes
M4A usually holds AAC audio, Apple’s compressed format (iPhone, voice memos, GarageBand, iTunes): it sounds good at small sizes, but some programs and platforms do not accept it.
MP3 is a lossy compressed format: it is small and plays on any device, but it discards part of the audio information to reduce the size.
