One of the most useful things you can do with an AI song model is hear your own song in a different genre. It is a fast way to test arrangement ideas before you spend time in the studio.
Your song, not someone else's
Covers of published songs by other artists are blocked by the provider's copyright filter, and releasing them would need a license anyway. This workflow is for songs you wrote: a demo, a voice memo, a rough mix.
How to do it
- Upload your song or record it in the browser (a voice-and-guitar demo is perfect).
- Choose Remix, which keeps the melody and timing of your recording.
- Write the new style: "romantic bachata, requinto guitar, bongos, güira, smooth male vocal".
- Paste your lyrics to make sure the words are right, or leave them empty to transcribe what you sang.
- Generate and compare the two versions.
Keeping the melody recognizable
- A clean source helps. A busy, heavily produced mix gives the model more to interpret.
- Choose a genre with a compatible tempo. A 70 BPM ballad becomes a 140 BPM drill track only with heavy changes.
- Keep the lyrics identical. The words anchor the melody.
Use it as an arrangement test
An AI cover is a sketch. If you like the new direction, use the stems as a reference for a real production, or keep refining the AI version: rebalance, replace the vocal with yours, and master it.
Try it in MixingMusic
Create your song with the Suno V6 engine: 1 free song up to 2:30 with its stems, two versions of every song, and mixing and mastering in the same account. Songs and recordings are kept for 30 days and stems for 7 days, so download what you want to keep.
