Many songs start as a melody hummed into a phone. With MixingMusic you can take that hum and turn it into a full arrangement with the Suno V6 model.
Record a hum the model can follow
- Find a quiet room. Background noise competes with your melody.
- Hum or sing on a simple syllable ("la", "na", "mm"). Clear pitch matters more than a beautiful voice.
- Keep a steady tempo. Tap your foot. A wandering tempo becomes a wandering song.
- Record 20 to 60 seconds: enough for a verse and a chorus idea.
- Do not hum too quietly. The live waveform in the recorder shows you if the signal is there.
Choose the right mode
- Remix keeps your melody and timing and dresses it with the style you write. Choose it when the melody is the point.
- New in its style gives the model more freedom. Choose it when your hum is more of a mood than a finished melody.
What about the lyrics?
A hum has no words, so you have two options: write lyrics that fit the rhythm of your melody, or leave the lyrics empty and let the model decide. For a melody you care about, writing lyrics with a similar number of syllables to your phrases gives the best result.
Set the style
The hum gives the melody; the style gives everything else. Be specific: "acoustic pop, fingerpicked guitar, soft percussion, warm female vocal" will dress the same melody very differently from "dark trap, 808, sparse piano".
What to expect
The model interprets your hum, it does not transcribe it note by note. Expect the overall contour and rhythm to survive and some notes to change, especially fast passages. Compare the two versions: one often stays closer to your melody than the other.
Finish it
Export the stems, raise the vocal if it sits too far back, and master the song so it sits well next to other music.
