Lo-fi is about mood and texture more than melody. It is usually instrumental, slow and slightly imperfect on purpose.
Style prompts (instrumental mode on)
- Lo-fi hip hop, dusty drums, warm Rhodes, vinyl crackle, mellow bass, relaxing, 80 BPM
- Jazzy lo-fi, muted trumpet, soft piano chords, rain ambience, late night
- Chillhop, nylon guitar, laid-back swing drums, warm tape saturation
Turn on instrumental mode; lo-fi rarely needs vocals. Tempos between roughly 70 and 90 BPM are typical.
Structure
Lo-fi tracks are loop-based: an intro, a main loop, a variation (a new chord or a filtered break) and the main loop again. Shorter tracks (1:30–2:30) are common on playlists.

Mastering gently
Lo-fi should not be loud. Master softer than pop, keep the warmth and do not remove the "imperfections"; they are the style.
