Fusion is where AI songs can surprise you. It is also where results most often turn into a confusing mix of everything.
The base-plus-accent formula
Choose one base genre that sets the rhythm and structure, and one accent that adds color:
- Base bachata + accent trap drums and 808
- Base cumbia + accent synthwave synths and gated drums
- Base house + accent salsa piano montuno and brass
- Base acoustic folk + accent afrobeats percussion
Write the base first in the style: bachata, requinto guitar, bongos, with trap hi-hats and soft 808.
Keep the tempo compatible
Fusions work when both genres can live at the same tempo, or when one is played in half-time. Add the BPM to steer it.
One fusion per song
Three genres in one prompt usually blur. If you want more, try them in different sections: describe the base, and use an [Instrumental] break where the accent takes over.
If the result is muddy
- Remove one instrument from the style.
- Make the base more explicit.
- In the mix, lower the stem of the accent instrument so the base leads.
