When you paste lyrics into an AI song generator, the model has to decide which lines are a verse, which are the chorus and where the song breathes. Section tags remove the guesswork.
How to write the tags
Put each tag on its own line, in square brackets, before the lines of that section:
[Verse]
I left the lights on in the hallway
...
[Chorus]
Come back before the morning
...
MixingMusic normalizes common Spanish tags ([Verso], [Coro], [Puente]) to the English ones the model understands best, and if your lyrics have no tags, it adds them: repeated stanzas become the chorus, the rest become verses.
The tags worth knowing
- [Intro] and [Outro]: short instrumental or sung openings and endings.
- [Verse]: the story. Different lyrics each time.
- [Pre-Chorus]: a lift into the chorus.
- [Chorus]: the hook. Same lyrics each time it appears.
- [Bridge]: a contrasting section, usually once, before the last chorus.
- [Instrumental] or [Solo]: space without vocals.
Templates by length
About 2:00–2:30: Intro, Verse, Chorus, Verse, Chorus, Outro.
About 3:00–4:00: Intro, Verse, Pre-Chorus, Chorus, Verse, Pre-Chorus, Chorus, Bridge, Chorus, Outro.
How long should each section be?
Four to eight lines per verse and four lines per chorus is a safe range. Lines of similar length help the model keep a steady phrasing.
Common mistakes
- Too many words for the length. If you pick 2:00 and write six verses, sections will be compressed or dropped.
- Different chorus lyrics every time. It weakens the hook; repeat it.
- Stage directions inside the lyrics ("sing this softly"). They may be sung literally. Keep directions out of the lyrics.
