If you have seen a message like "Your lyrics contain copyrighted material. Please change it and try again", your song hit the provider's content filter. It is not a bug, and it is not something MixingMusic can switch off.
What triggers it
The message mentions lyrics, but in practice two things can trigger it:
- Lyrics that match published songs. Even a recognizable chorus line or a few consecutive lines can be enough.
- Uploaded audio that matches a known recording. If you upload or record a cover of a published song for a Remix, the audio itself can be matched.
We do not know the exact rules of the filter; the provider does not publish them. These are the patterns we see.
How to fix it
- Write your own lyrics, or let MixingMusic write original lyrics from your description.
- Use a recording of your own song for Remix, not a cover.
- Remove quoted lines, famous phrases from songs, and song titles used as hooks.
- Avoid artist names in the style field; describe the sound instead.
What happens to your balance
A rejected song is not deducted from your songs. The error message in your library explains the reason, and you can try again right away with new lyrics.
Why it is good for you
It feels frustrating, but the filter protects you too: releasing a song built on someone else's lyrics or recording could get it removed from streaming services or claimed by the rights holder.
